180 Magazin – No. 3 “Strategies”
180 Magazine is a self-initiated publication project based on a 48-hour timeframe. First, the 42 participants had 24 hours to submit a topic proposal. A topic was then selected at random and announced, after which the participants had another 24 hours to create and submit their contributions. The theme of the third issue of 180 Magazine was “Strategies,” and the result is a 173-page brochure featuring creative texts, stories, illustrations, and research.
As part of the editorial team and as a book designer, my task was to find a visual framework for this project in which the diverse contributions retain their individuality while simultaneously coming together convincingly as a whole. The blue Risograph print, with its characteristic grid pattern, creates this unifying element without requiring further intervention in the submitted layouts. A loose dust jacket holds the contributions together without appearing too closed off.
